DJ Chef
Dj Chef, born and bred in East London is a Renegade Hardware specialist sound but can play from liquid/ jump up to tear-up drum & bass/ raga/ jungle sets. He is highly experienced in the djing field and mixes his sets seamlessly. 1994 saw Chef start a Diploma in music technology where Local hero’s Marley marl & Redant where already studying, another young Dj called Hector G from Hastings was on the course and offered Chef a residency at a club called Deep Cover on Hastings Pier this is where Chef played along his London heroes such as RANDALL, HYPE, SHY FX, MICKEY FINN, KENNY KEN, ANDY C. Chef held the residency for 3 years until the pier was shut down in 1997.
Through the years Chef supported the scene up and down the country at events like: Genisis, Telepathy, Life and Utopia, Rave World , Desire, Desertstorm, Jungle Fever, Orange, Fivers, Edge, Lazerdrome and many more. He’s played out at places such as Deep Cover at Hastings, Jungle Fever at Heavens, Primal at Turnmills, and Movement at Bar Rumba, Hysteria at SE1, 15 Years of Kool Fm at The Ministry of sound, Future Sounds at Vauxhall, Kool London at Herbal. 2004 saw the year that Chef had waited for, his chance to play a guest set on THE LEGENDARY KOOL 94.5FM along side partner in crime DJ/MC BUD and since then have been running the show every Thursday 7-9PM GMT. Chef and Bud have brought up many of the industry’s players: RAY KEITH - ASIDES - PATIFE - CLEVELAND WATKISS - MC SINGING FATS - MC AD - MC FLUX - STRIDER/HEIST - HELLRAISER - EPOC LIVE - SIGMA (DJ WOOZ) - CRAGGS AND PARALLEL… and more.
In 2007 Chef set up Caution Recordings due to the amount of good music being put in front of him he decided to create a label where good music no matter what style of DnB would be put out. In 2007 another chapter opened up for Chef working along side Innercity Dwellers, a band with an eclectic mix of music that screams the sound of UK youth. He had the opportunity beginning of 2008 to tour with Roni Size’s Reprezents out fit with the Innercity Dwellers up and down the UK. |
